Hi guys,
Firstly, turtles are not fed in little pots with no equipment that we call "death bowl". Even if you feed your turtle adequetly it has no chance to grow in that bowl and there will not be any muscle development because your turtle can not be swimming there. By the way, it is a matter of time that your turtle gets sick. We must immediately take precautions for turtles which are fed in an environment like that, equipments must be provided in a flash not in days. We've seen lots of people whose turtles died because of the delay.
Now, I am telling you how you need to feed your turtles.
Now, if you would like an aquarium which is going to be sufficient only for a year, the sizes must be like 50*40*40 so it's volume could be like 80 liters but if you say, I may have a heirloom aquariums, for 1 turtle the sizes must be 100*40*50 so it's volume could be 200 liters. For 2 turtles the sizes can be 120*50*60 and for 3 turtles they can be like 140*60*60. Though, especially in smaller aquariums, you must consider the water quantity you must give as a space in case your turtles' attempts of running off. Here I want you to pay attention that these informations and others that I am going to tell you only concern Sliders.
For those animals, heat is crucial and in their homeland, they live in habitats where are 26-28 degrees so you must get an aquarium heater. Otherwise, metabolism will slow down and appetite will be gone and there is also the possibility of getting cold and sick. Temperature must be checked with a degree. In our homes, turtles do not hibernate but when the winter comes, we also want their metabolisms to be a little bit slower not allowing they get too slower so there won't be any other complications. Up to 5 cm, water's temperature must be 28 degrees celcius, up to 8 cm, it must be 27 degrees celcius and after that it must be 26 degrees celcius.
They product urine and feces, you must buy a filter and because they adapt their habitat, frequent and complete water changes would ruin their metabolism. That is why, in aquariums we recommend partial water changes. You must soak the water from the bottom. By the way, you must regularly add water to the aquariums in order to prevent the water's steaming. If there is no filter in your aquariums you will be able to face ear or eye infection.
Turtles are cold-blooded animals so they go ashore and sunbathe meanwhile they increase their body temperature to balance their metabolism. They use sun rays to provide for their other needs, UVa stimulates social and carnal activities and UVb provides vitamin D3 for turtles, UVb makes turtles synthesize vitamin D3, it is needed for protecting bone and shell health. You need to have a UV bulb which is going to light for 3-5 hours a day. Considering their habitat, the most appropriate proportion would be 5% or 6%. For summers we may keep the bulb open for 5 hours between 10 am- 3 pm and for winters for 3 hours between 11 am-2 pm. Efficiency of UVb keeps it's effect up to 30 cm so for the ones that have 13-15 W it is the best to locate 17 cm above of basking platform and for the ones that have 25-26 W it is best to locate 27 cm above of basking platform.
As a heating bulb, you may choose a matt bulb that has 40-60 W. Your basking platform has to be 31-33 W so you need to locate your heating bulb measuring your platform's degree. You need to balance your platform's temperature and your water's temperature, the biggest difference between them can be 4-6 degrees celcius. Your heating bulb must light 10-12 hours a day. For winters 7 am-6 pm and for summers 7 am-7 pm.

For the ones who exuviate, you better have a root of mangrow, they adore itching under it. Also while they're growing they change skin to do so you may ground your aquarium with 0.7 mm silica sand and you may put silk plants in your aquariums.
